Corner Brook Acute Care Hospital

As part of the architectural team, JHA are assisting joint venture firms B+H Architects and Parkin Architects Ltd. with contract administration and inspection services for the new, $750M Corner Brook Acute Care Hospital. This seven-storey, 599,990ft2 hospital will be connected to the 145-bed long-term care facility that is currently under construction. It will have 164 beds and will provide the same services currently provided at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, as well as an expanded cancer care program with radiation services.

The Building’s design has drawn inspiration from Western Newfoundland’s regional geology and vernacular architecture to shape architecture that is rooted in place. The massing of its primary volumes mirrors the layered rolling landforms of the landscapes of Western Newfoundland.
